Plummer Charged With Sexual Abuse

Compiled From Wire Services

Arizona Cardinals draft pick Jake Plummer was charged Wednesday with four felony counts of sexual abuse stemming from an incident in which women said he groped them while dancing at a nightclub.

The charges were announced by Maricopa County Attorney Rick Romley, who has said a settlement Plummer reached with three accusers didn’t free him from prosecution.

Plummer, a former high school standout in Boise, also was charged with one count of misdemeanor assault. If convicted on all charges, he would face more than eight years in prison.

A Superior Court judge will decide at a June 27 hearing whether there is enough evidence to try Plummer. A court appearance is scheduled for June 10.
