‘Addicted To Love’ Touching And Funny

By The Spokesman-Review

The trick for “Addicted to Love” director Griffin Dunne was to infuse this tale of betrayal and revenge with enough comedy to compensate for the script’s mean-spiritedness. He relies on his stars, Matthew Broderick and Meg Ryan, but the sensitivity comes mostly from French actor Tcheky Karyo, whose character transforms from a Euro-trash jerk into someone who actually can love one woman (Kelly Preston). The result is both touching and funny. , DataTimes ILLUSTRATION: Photo
