Malinda Braman Spokane

Malinda (Birdsell) Braman is 100 years old today. She will celebrate her birthday with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m., June 1, at the home of her granddaughter, Linda Laird, where she now lives. Mrs. Braman was born May 30, 1897, in Lancaster, Wash. She has lived in the Inland Northwest all of her life and in Spokane the past 65 years.

She and Laurence Braman were married in 1920. He died in 1977.

Mrs. Braman retired from the Great Northern Railroad in 1962, after working there for 20 years.

The Bramans were parents to three children, all of whom have died: Irene Farmer, Melvin Braman and Marion Braman.

She has seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
