Nantz Heads Coverage

CBS Sports announcer Jim Nantz has been named prime-time host for the network’s coverage of the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.

Nantz, 38, will also become anchor of “College Football Today,” the network’s pregame and postgame studio show covering college football.

In addition, CBS Sports President Sean McManus announced on a teleconference call that Nantz’s contract has been extended for five years. Nantz, considered by the network to be its primary sports announcer, will continue hosting network coverage of men’s professional golf and college basketball.
