Shadow Look To Remain Unbeaten

The Spokane Shadow’s perfect record will be tested this weekend with a pair of home matches.

The Shadow, 6-0 in the USISL Premier League Northwest Division, 7-0 overall, will play host to the Central Coast Roadrunners of the Southwest Division today. The de fending Premier League champions are 3-3 in league, 5-4 overall.

The Shadow will return to division play Saturday when they host Puget Sound BigFoot with a fireworks show included. Earlier this season, Spokane beat Puget Sound 2-0 behind Dave Berto’s two goals. The match will mark the return of ex-Shadow keeper Bill May. BigFoot is 2-4 in the Northwest Division, 2-4 overall.

Berto, who has scored in five games this year, leads the Shadow with five goals and three assists for 13 points. Zane Higgins, who scored in both games last weekend, has four goals, two assists and 10 points.

Shadow keeper Josh Fouts of Gonzaga University has been hot, allowing four goals in five starts for a .78 goals-against average.

Both matches begin at 7:05 p.m.
