Studded Tires Ok Starting Today

From Staff And Wire Reports

Winter can’t be far away. Studded tires can be used on Washington highways beginning today.

The state Department of Transportation notes that studded tires are approved “traction tires” when they are required or recommended for driving on snowy roads.

Tires labeled mud and snow tires with at least an eighth of an inch of tread depth also qualify as traction tires. Those tires can be used year-round, but studded tires must be removed by March 31.
