Photo Contest Winners At Show

Winners of the “Magic of Manito Photography Competition” have been determined and will be part of the exhibit at City Hall, sponsored by the Spokane Arts Commission and Friends of Manito.

The photographers will attend the exhibit’s opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday; the show, with 50 photos, runs through Dec. 31.

“Winter Path” by Gay Waldman took first place in the professional category; Charlein Storm took second with “Bewitched.”

In the adult amateur category, Deborah Harder took first place; Carolyn Harder, second; and Rick Douglas, third.

In the youth category, Aaron Brevik won in the under-13 class, and Dawn Witzius, in the over-13 group.

Winning Judge’s Choice awards were Brevik and Harder, Jennifer Bartow, Bill and Carolyn Bryan, Anthony Crenshaw, Lilian Granados, Chris Mansfield, Gay Waldman, Carolyn Wanamaker and Julie Wokash.

Valley Rep yule registration

The Valley Repertory Theatre will hold registration for their Christmas show from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the theater, located at Sprague and Pines. The registration is open to actors age 10 and above.

Everyone signing up will participate in the Christmas production, which will be performed Dec. 5-20.

Registrants will also have the chance to attend a four-week workshop and participate in classes in acting, characterization, movement, dance, music and writing dialogue. Registration fee is $25.
