Time To Take The Initiative - Or Leave It Voters Get Chance To Decide Lots Of Ballot Measures Today

If the commercials on television and the fliers in your mailbox haven’t done it, here’s one last reminder: Today is Election Day.

Washington state voters will decide if they want to change state law on topics as diverse as handguns, drugs, gay rights and medical insurance.

Spokane County voters are being asked to approve an additional gasoline tax to help fix roads.

Spokane city voters will choose a mayor and three City Council members. Voters in Airway Heights, Cheney, Deer Park, Medical Lake, Millwood, Rockford and Spangle face contested races for city positions, while Fairfield, Latah and Waverly have uncontested races.

School, fire, water and sewer districts also are holding elections.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Information on where to vote is available by calling county elections offices. In Spokane County, that number is 456-2320. , DataTimes
