Troops Likely To Stay Longer In Bosnia

Secretary of State Madeleine Albright says a “consensus is developing” between the administration and Congress that U.S. troops will be needed in Bosnia after next June, when the mandate for the current NATO-led force expires.

She said President Clinton has not made a final decision but has attended Cabinet meetings where the subject was discussed.
