Nic Receives Donation Of Chevy For Teaching

The North Idaho College automotive department will receive a Chevrolet Cavalier as a donation from Knudtsen Chevrolet in Coeur d’Alene and the Chevrolet Motor Division to give students the opportunity to learn the latest in automotive parts and repair technology.

This is the second time Knudtsen Chevrolet and the Chevrolet Motor Division have been able to donate a passenger car. Also donated have been engines, transmissions, auto components and tools to various major college automotive training programs.

Volunteer efforts of the Hayden First Ward Mormon Church have produced a new 165-foot bridge at the English Point Recreation Area on Hayden Lake.

More than 40 volunteers from the congregation, including organizer Kelly Laga, technical advisor Steve Marlatt, and excavator Bob Ormesher, pitched in to help trail users avoid one of the muddiest sections of the trail.

Andy Boggs, Forest Service recreation technician, estimated the work to be valued at more than $1,500, money which the Forest Service did not have, he said.
