$12 Million Lotto Winner Says Church Gets Half

Associated Press

New Jersey’s newest lottery millionaire plans to donate half of her nearly $12 million Pick 6 jackpot to her church.

Eleanor Boyer, 72, is a longtime volunteer at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church who can now give more than her time.

Boyer picked up her $11.8 million lump-sum prize Friday at the stationery store where she bought Monday’s winning ticket.

Boyer plans to donate $5 million to $6 million to the church and will give much of the rest to relatives and local organizations.

“I live a very plain and practical life,” said Boyer, who’s been driving the same Chevrolet sedan for 29 years. “I don’t want anything. I don’t even want a new car.”
