New Faces:

Robert Corbett, Jr., M.D., has joined Holy Family Hospital’s active medical staff in the practice of Family Medicine. Corbett is joining Northpointe Family Medicine.

The Spokane office of Sedgwick of Washington, Inc. announces the appointment of Lisa Quigley to the position of Marketing Support Coordinator. Quigley will be responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and sales plans for Sedgwick’s professional insurance brokerage staff. She will also assist with client communications, surveys and quality control.

Robert Ross has joined Mortimore Productions as video and 3-D graphics animator as part of their newly expanded video suite. Ross served on the crew of the NBC series ‘TV Blooper and Practical Jokes’ before joining Hume Lake Christian Camps.

Shelly Bonforti has recently joined the Sales staff at American Electronic Sign as their Sales/Marketing Assistant. Bonforti has over six years of marketing and sales experience and will assist the sales effort of the company in both the Commercial and the Transportation divisions.

The law firm of Huppin Ewing Anderson and Paul, P.S. has announced that Ernest Greco will join its staff. Greco will emphasize insurance law and commercial litigation.

William Roth and J. Alan Maddox have both joined Holy Family Hospital’s active medical staff in the practice of Family Medicine. They will both be associated with Diakonia Family Health.

Moving Up:

The Postal Service has announced that Ken McArthur is the new Senior Plant Manager for the Spokane Mail Processing Center. McArthur has been with the Postal Service for 21 years.

Kathleen Kopczick was promoted to Business Assurance Partner in the Spokane office of Coopers & Lybrand L.L.P. Kopczick has been with the company for over 12 years.

The following promotions at Sterling Savings have been announced:

Cindy Parker promotes to Vice President. Parker has over 20 years’ of experience in the financial services industry.

Tom Lewis promotes to Assistant Vice President. Lewis joined Sterling Savings as an Accountant Manager in General Leger in 1996. He previously was with TNT United Truck Lines, Inc.

Geoff Asan to Assistant Vice President. Asan joined Sterling Savings in 1995 as a Business Banking Officer. He previously was a manger of statistics and analysis for Dakotah Direct and a loan officer at Farmers & Merchants.

Starting Up:

Greer Gibson Bacon, CFP, has opened Asset Planning & Management, Inc. A registered investment advisory firm, providing specialized financial planning and investment management services to individuals, professional practices, and closely-held businesses. Bacon has more than 18 years of successful experience in the financial services industry and is a certified financial planner and registered investment adviser. She is also a member of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners, the International Association of Financial Planners and the Spokane Estate Planning Council.

Achievements:

Output Technology Corporation, a US based leader in high speed batch and document on-demand business printing solutions, was registered ISO 9001 quality standard compliant. ISO 9001 represents an international set of quality management standards that provide a common approach for documenting and maintaining a quality system for organizations that design, develop, produce, install and service their own products.

The following people passed the Idaho State Bar exam given in July: Merrilee Parr Dal Pra, Sara Darcy, Robert Crary and Maxine Schmitz, all of Gonzaga University; Ame’ Cochnauer, Tana Sorenson, John Cafferty, Tracy Smith Frasier, Tonya Lysne, LaDawn Marsters, Carmel McCurdy, Sunil Ramalingam, and Thomas Whitney, all of University of Idaho; Kenneth Stone, Western State University; Tara Allgood, American University; and Steven Kinn, Willamette University.

Name Change:

Trust Corp, DADCO’s Trust Company, has changed its name to Davidson Trust Co. The reason for the name change was to highlight the trust company’s affiliation with the other DADCO companies, D.A. Davidson & Co. and Financial Aims Corporation and to the availability of the combined services of those companies.

Kudos:

Five community leaders have been recognized with Rotary’s Honorary Paul Harris Fellowship:

King Cole for his contributions to the community. Cole, who was president of Expo ‘74, has been credited as the greatest visionary and salesman the community has ever known.

H. Sandra Fink for her contributions to education and the youth of our community. Fink is the principal of North Central High School.

Thomas S. Foley for his contributions to the state, nation and world. Foley, the 49th speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, served the Fifth Congressional District in the House for 30 years.

Don Kardong for his contribution to our community. Kardong founded the Lilac Bloomsday Run and is currently the president of the Road Runners Club of America.

Agnes Randall for her contribution in working with the disabled of our community. Randall worked for the Department of Social and Health Services and the Welfare Department as a social worker.

Scholarships and Grants:

Three area students have been awarded scholarships from the Johnson Matthey Employee Scholarship Foundation.

Adam Franke of Central Valley High School received $1,000.

Jeremiah Halstead of Mead High School received $1,000.

Kelly Prohaska of Gonzaga University received $500.

Elected:

Dan Clark, president of Adams & Clark, Inc., a regional consulting engineering firm, has been elected chairman of the Washington State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
