Stream Team Meets

Hangman Creek

Fish and wildlife habitat will play a key role when a “stream team” of private and government interests meets this week to plan flood control projects on Hangman Creek.

Citizens interested in helping develop the flood management plans for the creek in south Spokane County are invited to a meeting Wednesday, 6:30 p.m., at Qualchan Golf Course clubhouse. Follow Meadow Lane off U.S. Highway 195.

Technical assistance in developing fish-friendly ways to protect property from flooding will be provided by Washington Fish and Wildlife Department habitat biologist Carmen Andonaegui.

Participants are encouraged to bring information about flood frequency, extent, bank loss and damage estimates. Info: 891-1141.
