Actor To Speak At Gonzaga

Edward James Olmos - actor, producer, director and community activist will discuss “We’re All in the Same Gang” at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the COG’s Montana Room on the Gonzaga University campus.

He starred in the films “Wolfen,” “Blade Runner” and “Stand and Deliver,” which he also produced. On the Broadway stage, he was nominated for his performance in the musical “Zoot Suit.”

Olmos’ TV credits include his portrayal of Lt. Castillo in “Miami Vice.” He also starred in “Menendez: a Murder in Beverly Hills,” and the miniseries “Dead Man’s Walk.”

He is executive director of the Lives in Hazard Educational Project, a national gang prevention funded by the U.S. Department of Justice. He is spokesman for Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and is the U.S. Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.

Olmos’ Spokane appearance is part of the Gonzaga Student Body Association’s Speaker Series. Tickets, at $7, are available at the Crosby Student Center. , DataTimes
