Gonzaga’s Puppets Returned Intact
Found: Seven “Kids on the Block” in mint condition.
The educational puppets, missing since last Saturday, were returned to the Gonzaga University special education program by an anonymous man late Thursday.
He told Kids on the Block coordinator Tania Johnson they were found under the Maple Street Bridge, shielded from the elements.
“They were intact and hadn’t been rained on,” Johnson said. “We’re really happy. They were worth so much money. We couldn’t have replaced them.”
The 3-foot-tall puppets were stolen from a car parked in Browne’s Addition and are valued at $8,000, Johnson said.
They are used in local elementary schools to teach children lessons about people with disabilities.
