Sherrill Gets Extension

Former Washington State coach Jackie Sherrill will be coaching at Mississippi State through the 2001 season as part of a deal agreed to by college officials. The state college board must also approve.

“I have been here seven years and this is where I intend to finish my coaching career,” Sherrill said.

His current four-year contract, which would end next year, is worth at least $358,000 annually, including base salary, television and radio shows and other sources.
