London Hit By Bomb Blasts; No Suspects Named

Associated Press

Small explosive devices blew up outside two branches of a London supermarket Saturday, and police defused another device outside a third store of the same chain.

No one was injured.

It was not immediately clear who planted the devices. The first explosion occurred outside the main entrance of a Sainsbury’s store in west London, Scotland Yard said. The second was at a Sainsbury’s in nearby Greenford.

Police were called to a third branch, also in west London, when a suspect package was found in the checkout area.

Police cleared the store and the surrounding area and defused the device.

It was not immediately clear what type of explosive device was used.
