Duo Cited For Forensic Art Instruction, Police Training

Local forensic art instructors Rick Parks and Carrie Stuart-Parks recently received the John Edgar Hoover Memorial Gold Medal and Citation from the American Police Hall of Fame for leadership skills in police training and innovative forensic art instruction.

The Parks have trained more than 150 departments from federal, state, local, private and college security agencies in composite and forensic art, despite the original drawing skills of participants.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation sponsored a course for its Special Projects Section at the FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., featuring the Parks, who have trained students from agencies including Texas Rangers, U.S. Forest Service, Federal Witness Protection Program and the Air Force. Their graduates have drawn composites that have led to the identification of numerous suspects, including the most notorious serial arsonist in the nation’s history.
