Burglars Hit Valley Market

Burglars hit RJ’s Fresh Market at 16th and Pines Saturday night, escaping with $100 worth of bulk pistachios, 14 Dungeness crabs and a small amount of cash, sheriff’s deputies reported.

The thieves kicked in the front door and filled shopping baskets with pop and other items. They left behind several baskets filled with food, possibly a sign that they were frightened off, deputies said. The market’s office was not disturbed.

No arrests have been made.
