Actor Willis Scouting Twin Falls Movie Deal Hailey Resident Reportedly Considering Film Take On ‘Breakfast Of Champions’

Associated Press

Although it’s far from a done deal, there’s a possibility that actor and Hailey resident Bruce Willis may be involved in a movie to be shot at Twin Falls.

Peg Owens of the Idaho Film Bureau confirmed that Twin Falls is under consideration as a film site, but nothing has been finalized.

“Yes, there is a production company looking at shooting in Twin Falls involving Bruce Willis,” she said.

“Yes, the company tells me it is moving ahead. But I wouldn’t say it’s a done deal.”

Willis and wife Demi Moore live with their three children near Hailey. They own and operate the Liberty Theater and The Mint in Hailey, and Willis is a part-owner of the Soldier Mountain Ski Resort.

Kent Just, executive vice president of the Twin Falls area Chamber of Commerce, said he met last month with David Blocker, son of the late Dan Blocker, who played Hoss on the old “Bonanza” television series.

They discussed the possibility of a movie being shot in Idaho Falls, but Willis’ name was not mentioned.

“But I suspect there is some connection there and he did let me know they are looking at us and if they do a movie here it would start in early February and go into April - 10 weeks,” he said.

“They were not publicly discussing it. It was no big secret, they just weren’t ready to talk about it.”

Just said he felt there was an 80 percent chance it will happen.

Tom Arnold, director of the state Department of Commerce, was more positive.

He said in a Ketchum appearance that Willis will make the film version of the 1973 Kurt Vonnegut novel “Breakfast of Champions.”

Valley Entertainment, Willis’ Hailey-based company, said Twin Falls is under consideration but no commitments have been made.

Last month, a Hollywood trade publication reported Willis would star in and produce the film version of the comic novel.

Hollywood Reporter said filming would start in February and the film would be directed by Alan Rudolph.
