Canadian Firm Likely To Buy Sears Tower
Sears Tower, the world’s third-tallest building, soon could be owned by a Canadian real estate firm.
TrizecHahn Corp. of Toronto is close to signing a deal to buy the 1,454-foot, 110-story building, the Chicago Tribune reported in Friday’s editions, citing unidentified real estate sources.
The price tag for the purchase was not disclosed, and the newspaper said the tentative deal is contingent on an inspection of the building and its financial condition.
The building’s current owner is the investment partnership of Boston-based AEW Capital Management.
