Utah 20, BYU 14: At Provo, Utah, freshman quarterback Darnell Arceneaux rushed for a pair of touchdowns to lead the Utes (6-5, 5-3 WAC) over the Cougars (6-5, 4-4).

New Mexico 51, Tulsa 13: At Albuquerque, N.M., Graham Leigh threw four touchdown passes and the Lobos (9-2, 6-2 WAC), looking for their first bowl invitation since 1961, capped their best season in 15 years by defeating the struggling Golden Hurricane (2-9, 2-6).

Fresno St. 24, Wyoming 7: At Fresno, Calif., Michael Pittman ran for 138 yards and a touchdown to lead the Bulldogs (6-6, 5-3 WAC) over the Cowboys (7-6, 4-4 WAC).

San Jose St. 55, UNLV 48 (OT): At Las Vegas, Dan O’Dell threw his fifth touchdown pass of the game, a 10-yarder to Oliver Newell in overtime, to give the Spartans (4-7, 4-4 WAC) the victory over the Rebels (3-8, 2-6).

EAST

Navy 62, Kent 29: At Annapolis, Md., quarterback Chris McCoy rushed for 268 yards and three touchdowns and Tim Cannada also ran for three scores for Navy as the Midshipmen (6-4) routed the Golden Flashes (3-8) to clinch consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 1981-82.

Boston College 24, Army 20: At Boston, Matt Hasselbeck, playing his final collegiate game, threw his third touchdown pass of the game, an 8-yarder to Todd Pollack midway in the fourth quarter, lifting the Eagles (4-7) over the Cadets (4-6).

SOUTHWEST

Oklahoma State 24, Baylor 14: At Waco, Texas, quarterback Tony Lindsay guided Oklahoma State on three long touchdown drives as the bowl-bound Cowboys (8-3, 5-3 Big 12) finished their finest season since 1988 with a win over the Bears (2-9, 1-7).

Rice 31, Texas-El Paso 13: At Houston, long passes by Chad Nelson set up TD runs by Benji Wood and Chad Richardson as the Owls (7-4, 5-3 WAC) beat the Miners (4-7, 3-5).

Tulane 44, Houston 10: At Houston, Shaun King passed for two touchdowns and ran for two more as the Green Wave (7-4, 5-1 C-USA) wrapped up their best season in 17 years by pounding the Cougars (3-8, 2-4).

Oklahoma 32, Texas Tech 21: At Lubbock, Texas, Seth Littrell rushed for two touchdowns and Justin Fuente (14 of 21, 218 yards) revived Oklahoma’s dormant passing game, as the Sooners (4-8, 2-6 Big 12) upset the Red Raiders (6-5, 5-3).

MIDWEST

Michigan St. 27, Illinois 17: At Champaign, Ill., Sedrick Irvin rushed for 159 yards and caught a touchdown pass as the Spartans (6-4, 3-4 Big Ten) defeated the Fighting Illini (0-11, 0-8), giving Illinois its 17th consecutive loss and first winless season in 28 years.

Iowa 31, Minnesota 0: At Iowa City, Randy Reiners threw two touchdown passes and Tim Dwight scored on a punt return while setting three Big Ten return records as the Hawkeyes (7-4, 4-4 Big Ten) became eligible for a bowl by defeating the Golden Gophers (3-9, 1-7).

SOUTH

Clemson 47, South Carolina 21: At Columbia, S.C., Nealon Greene’s three touchdown passes lifted the Tigers (7-4) over the Gamecocks (5-6) and possibly into the Peach Bowl.

Georgia Tech 37, Maryland 18: At Atlanta, Joe Hamilton had another outstanding game, throwing for 265 yards and three TDs to lead the Yellow Jackets (6-4, 5-3 ACC) over the Terrapins (2-9, 1-7).

N. Carolina St. 37, East Carolina 24: At Raleigh, N.C., Jamie Barnette burrowed into the end zone from 1 yard out with 31 seconds to play, breaking a tie and helping the Wolfpack (6-5) qualify for a bowl by defeating the Pirates (5-6).

N.C. State’s Clayton White closed the scoring with a 34-yard interception return with two seconds to go.

Southern Mississippi 42, Memphis 18: At Memphis, Tenn., Harold Shaw rushed for 188 yards and three scores to lead the Golden Eagles (8-3, 6-0 C-USA) past the Tigers (4-7, 2-4).

Central Florida 34, Toledo 17: At Orlando, Fla., Paul Miranda scored on an 88-yard kickoff return, and Daunte Culpepper accounted for two touchdowns to help the Golden Knights (5-6) past the Rockets (9-2).
