CV Will Play Saturday

A feast of football playoff games has been scheduled for Albi Stadium on Thanksgiving weekend.

The biggest change involved moving Central Valley’s State 4A semifinal game to Saturday night.

Three high school semifinals were set Sunday around next Saturday’s NCAA 1-AA first-round game and the practices that go with it.

Albi will be the site of the B-8, 2A and 4A East semifinals, while Lampson Stadium in Kennewick gets a 3A, 1A, B-11 tripleheader on Saturday.

Friday, after Eastern Washington University and Northwestern State University of Louisiana practice in the afternoon, No. 5 Colton (7-3) tackles No. 1 Rosalia (9-0) in a Southeast B-8 rematch at 5 p.m. The all Great Northern League 2A semifinal between No. 5 Pullman (10-1) and No. 10 Medical Lake (10-1) will follow at 7:30.

The college playoff game will be played Saturday at 12:30 p.m. No. 6 Central Valley (11-1) will face top-ranked Puyallup (12-0) in the 4A semifinal at 7 p.m.

The lineup at Lampson is No. 2 Lakes (11-0) against upstart No. 9 Moses Lake (9-2) in a 3A game at 1 p.m., No. 2 Colfax (10-0) against No. 3 Okanogan (11-0) at 4 p.m. and a Southeast B-11 rematch between No. 5 Waitsburg (10-1) and top-ranked DeSales (10-1) at 7.

The other semifinal games will be played in the Tacoma Dome with the 3A and B-8 games Thanksgiving Day and the other four games on Friday.

Semifinal winners advance to the Grid Classic III championship games Dec. 5-6 in the Tacoma Dome.
