Au Pair Moves Into Lawyer’s Home

British au pair Louise Woodward has left a pricey hotel where she has stayed since her release on a manslaughter conviction and moved into the home of one of her lawyers, a source told The Associated Press on Monday.

Woodward and her father, Gary, have moved into the home of attorney Elaine Whitfield Sharp, who helped defend the 19-year-old woman against charges she shook an 8-month-old boy under her care to death.

The source close to Woodward, who requested anonymity, said Gary Woodward was uncomfortable staying in a fancy hotel on charity money raised by supporters, and was hurt by news reports criticizing his daughter for having thousands of donated dollars at her disposal.

Woodward has since worked out a “practical and thrifty” spending allowance for both him and his daughter, the source said. Her lawyer’s home is in Marblehead, an affluent seaside community north of Boston.
