Big Sky Honors Montana’s Ah Yat

Montana’s Brian Ah Yat has been named the Big Sky Conference offensive player of the week after propelling the Grizzlies into the I-AA Division football playoffs.

Eric Weston of Weber State was named the week’s top defensive player and Kris Heppner of Montana was given the special teams award.

Ah Yat was 29 of 45 for 335 yards and two touchdowns in leading Montana to a last-second, 27-25 win over rival Montana State.

Weston recorded three quarterback sacks for minus 19 yards in Weber State’s 26-7 win over rival Idaho State.

Heppner, a 5-9, 175-pound senior place kicker for the Grizzlies, was a perfect 3-of-3 in points-after-touchdown and 2-of-2 in field goals.
