Idaho Women Lose Third Game In A Row

The University of Idaho women’s basketball team lost its third straight game Monday, falling 79-66 at San Jose State before 156 fans.

UI turned the ball over 36 times compared to the Spartans’ 24.

“We couldn’t catch it. We dribbled it off our feet,” fourth-year Idaho coach Julie Holt said. “I don’t think we’ve had 36 turnovers since I’ve coached here. If I can’t get these guys prepared to play, obviously I need to do a better job at coaching.”

The Vandals (0-3) haven’t lost three in a row to open the season since Holt’s first year in 1994-95.

Sasha Spalding led the Spartans (1-2) with game highs of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Natasha Johnson added 17 points and four assists coming off the bench for San Jose State.

Alli Nieman scored a team-high 20 points for the Vandals, but had eight turnovers.
