Nbc Scores With Super Bowl
NBC has sold all available commercial time for the Jan. 25, 1998, Super Bowl telecast, network officials said Monday.
The network got a record $1.3 million for each 30-second advertising unit, the trade magazine Advertising Age reported. That would be up from an average of more than $1.2 million for the last Super Bowl telecast which was carried on the Fox TV network.
Industry executives cited recent strong demand by advertisers for sports programming and a rush by movie studios to book promotional time for upcoming releases as reasons for the increased price.
