New District Court Judge Appointed

From Staff And Wire Reports

Spokane County Commissioners on Tuesday appointed Vance W. Peterson to fill a vacant District Court judgeship.

Peterson has been a District Court commissioner since 1991. In January, he’ll replace retiring Judge Richard J. Richard.

Peterson, 44, graduated from Gonzaga Law School in 1982. He worked as an attorney handling family cases and criminal defense until 1991.

He must run for election next November to keep the $94,000-a-year job.
