In a nod to modern times, Elizabeth II is putting her annual Christmas Day message out on the Internet for the first time. Buckingham Palace announced Thursday that it would post the traditional holiday greeting on the palace web site, http:/ /www.royal.gov.uk, with a video version on the web site of Independent Television News, http:/ /www.itn.co.uk. Celebrating her 50 years of marriage to Prince Philip last week, the queen spoke of things that had happened during the last half century including the opportunity to “surf the net.”
