New Trustee Named For Bonner Schools

Jim Cooper, finance manager for Northern Lights Inc., was appointed the new Bonner County school trustee this week.

Cooper, 43, was selected from a group of four candidates to fill a vacancy on the board. He replaces Tom Fuhriman, who resigned Sept. 17 to take a job out of state.

He has two stepdaughters in junior high and has lived in North Idaho since 1985. Cooper will fill the position until the May election for trustees.

The current board was impressed by Cooper’s financial background, since the district has struggled for years with a deficit. Cooper also is a fresh face and hasn’t been vocal about district problems.
