Women Of Wwp Foundation Awards Student Scholarships

The Women of Washington Water Power Foundation has awarded $10,000 for scholarships this year.

The students, their high schools, scholarships and parents are:

Kimberly Aked, Shadle Park; $2,500, daughter of Ted and Patricia Aked; Beth Pierce, Lewis and Clark, $2,000, daughter of Bruce and Donna Pierce; Stacia Marriott, Davenport, $1,500, daughter of Nicholas and Deborah Marriott; Mayalisa Anderson, North Central, $1,000, daughter of Allen and Carole Anderson; Mykette Fredricks, Colville; $1,000, daughter of Mike and Marlene Fredricks; Shelby Mortensen, West Valley, $1,000, daughter of Jerry and Becky Mortensen; and Michael Ross, Ferris, $1,000, son of Thomas and Betsy Newman.

Lowell Sannes, a senior in Moses Lake’s Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, has been accepted into the cooperative internship program of Continental Airlines. He is a graduate of Big Bend Community College’s aviation program.

Tamara Hartman of Spokane, graduated magna cum laude from St. Andrews Presbyterian College, Laurinburg, N.C. She received a degree in visual arts.

Grant Rodkey, a 1978 graduate of University High School, received a DMD degree from the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland.

Rodkey, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rodkey, Post Falls, received a masters’ degree in metallurgy from Washington State University and worked for Teledyne Co. as a metallurgist before attending dental school.

Carissa Mundt, a 1994 Liberty High School graduate, received a $400 Walter and Pauline Harris Scholarship to attend Washington State University, where she is a senior majoring in microbiology. She is the daughter of Pamela and Walter Mundt of Rosalia, Wash.
