Colfax Mounts An Air Game, Beats Error-Prone Freeman

Colfax changed its style to win the first game in the three-team Northeast A League.

Tyson Curtis completed 8 of 13 passes for 183 yards as the Bulldogs (4-0, 1-0), slowed down on the ground, passed their way to a 40-0 win Friday at Freeman (2-2, 0-1).

Kyle Warwick, Curtis’ top target, had 103 receiving yards. Colfax fumbled four times but lost none. Jeff Wigen had 16 unassisted tackles for the Scotties, who had four turnovers.

Travis Telecky rushed for 126 on 22 carries and Jeremiah Johnson added 105 on 20 as the Gorillas (4-0, 2-0) topped the visiting Lancers (1-3, 0-2) to set up next week’s showdown with Reardan.

Davenport’s Ben Turner and Nick Bergman totaled 15 tackles apiece. Brad Wyman of Liberty rushed for 114 yards on 16 carries.
