Nieman-To-Bowman Spells Doom For Lake City

Idaho preps

Sandpoint quarterback Paul Nieman and receiver Caleb Bowman hooked up on three long scoring plays to spark the Bulldogs to a 33-21 win over the Lake City Timberwolves in a Inland Empire League opener Friday night in Sandpoint.

Nieman hit Bowman for 60and 80-yard touchdown passes in the first quarter and a 32-yard back-breaking TD in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs improved to 3-2, 1-0.

Bowman finished with eight catches for 242 yards.

Chad Troxel threw a pair of touchdown passes for Lake City (4-1, 0-1).

Scott Bushnell’s 13-yard run pulled the Timberwolves into a 21-21 tie at the end of the third quarter.

The Lakeland Hawks rolled to a 33-6 Intermountain League win at Priest River, spoiling the Spartans’ homecoming.

The Moscow Bears (2-3) shut out the Coeur d’Alene Vikings (1-4) 22-0 in a non-league game.
