Signs Of The Times Tell Of Road Work All Over

The orange signs are becoming part of Spokane’s scenery: “Slow,” “Detour,” “Give ‘Em A Brake.”

There’s no relief yet from road and sewer construction. Six city streets will be closed or have lane restrictions next week. Interstate 90, as well as several dozen roads in the county, also are getting a facelift.

Work is under way in the following areas:

Francis Avenue from Division to Lowell;

Lincoln Street, from Main Avenue to Spokane Falls Boulevard;

Intersection of Sprague Avenue and Division Street;

Monroe Street, from Boone to Bridge Avenue;

Post Street, from the north end of Post Street Bridge to Spokane Falls Boulevard;

Monroe Street, from Maxwell Avenue to Garland Avenue;

Thor and Freya streets, from Sprague Avenue to Eighth Avenue;

Hamilton Street, from Trent Avenue to North Foothills Drive;

I-90, from Sprague Avenue Interchange to Pines Interchange;

I-90, from Sprague and Fancher Intersection;

Francis Avenue, from Division Street to Lowell Avenue;

Division Street, from Queen Avenue to Francis Avenue;

Harvard Road Bridge, from Mission to Euclid

Dishman Mica Road shoulder, from Schafer to 16th Avenue

West Valley sewer project, local traffic only on:

Nora Avenue from Park Road to Vista Road;

Augusta Avenue from Center Road to Vista Road;

Baldwin Avenue from Park Road to Ella Street;

Indiana Avenue from Park Road to Vista Road;

Vista Road from Indiana Avenue to Mission Avenue;

Knox Avenue from Ella Street to Vista Road;

Ella Street from Knox Avenue to Indiana Avenue;

Elton Road from Indiana Avenue to Knox Avenue;

Dick from Indiana Avenue to Knox Avenue;

Ely Road south of Indiana Avenue;

Elton Road south of Indiana Avenue;

Baldwin Avenue, east and west of Elton Road.

Fair Acres sewer project, closed with detours on:

Oberlin Road south of Montgomery Avenue;

University Road from Trent to Fairview Avenue;

Fairview Avenue from University Road to Bowdish Road;

Frederick from Railroad Avenue to Bowdish Avenue;

Gillis Street from Fairview Avenue to Railroad Avenue;

Grace Avenue from University Road to Bowdish Road.

32nd Avenue/Skyview sewer project, from Dishman Mica Road to Highway 27.

Country Homes area, local traffic only on:

Mt. View Road from Wall Street to Mt. View Lane;

Price Road from Wall Street to Mt. View Lane;

Ivanhoe Road from Wall Street to 200 feet west of Wall Street.

Forrest Hills sewer project, closed with detours on:

Five-Mile Road from Waikiki to Toni Rae Drive;

Ardmore Drive from North Five-Mile Road to East End;

Kensington Court from Juanita Road to West End;

Banbury Drive from College Circle to Juanita Road;

Lawrence Drive from Ardmore Drive to East End;

Hawthorne Road from Waikiki to Juanita Road;

Juanita Road from Hawthorne Road to end;

Ronald Drive from Ardmore Drive to Toni Rae Drive;

Toni Rae Drive from Ronald Drive to East End;

Toni Rae Drive from North Five-Mile Road to Wildwood Court.

Valley Road Bridge over Otter Creek, between Bruce Road and Eloika Road;

Stentz Road Bridge over Spangle Creek, between Highway 195 and Spangle Creek Road;

Glenview sewer project, closed with detours on:

Bowdish Road from 22nd Avenue to 25th Avenue;

24th Avenue from Bowdish Road to Union Road.
