Razor Clam Season Set On Washington Coast

The fall razor clam season will open Oct. 15 for some coastal beaches, the Washington Fish and Wildlife Department says.

Long Beach, Twin Harbors beach, Copalis beach, Mocrocks beach and Kalaloch beach will be open for p.m. tides only on Oct. 15, Oct. 17, Oct. 19 and Oct. 21. Twin Harbors will remain open through Nov. 19 for p.m. tides on odd-numbered days. Long Beach, Twin Harbors and Mocrocks also will be open Jan. 30-31 for p.m. tides.

Winter digging may be allowed after the harvest through January is evaluated.

Razor clam harvesters above the age of 15 must purchase a shellfish/seaweed license. Harvesters may take 15 razor clams. The first 15 dug must be retained, regardless of size or condition.
