Anthony Signs With Sonics

Associated Press

The Seattle SuperSonics on Thursday signed free agent guard Greg Anthony to a one-year contract.

Terms were not announced.

Anthony, 29, was drafted by the New York Knicks as the 12th overall pick in the 1991 draft out of the University of Las Vegas.

The 6-foot-2 guard spent the past two seasons with the Vancouver Grizzlies, who renounced his rights in the offseason. He played in 65 games last season and averaged 9.5 points and 5.0 assists while shooting 37 percent from 3-point range.

Anthony’s best season was 1995-96 after he was selected by the Grizzlies in the expansion draft. He averaged 14 points and 6.9 assists.
