Two Injured In Head-On Collision

From Staff Reports

A suspected drunken driver caused a two-car collision Thursday on the South Hill, injuring himself and the other driver, police said.

The accident happened about 4:30 p.m. on Hatch Road, between 57th Avenue and Hangman Road.

Police said the 59-year-old man was southbound on Hatch when he lost control of his car, crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound car driven by a 48-year-old woman.

The man was hospitalized with a possible broken neck. The woman suffered a broken arm and leg, police said. Their names and conditions were not released.

Hatch Road was closed for about two hours while police investigated the accident.
