Man Held In Bank Robberies
A Spokane man was held Friday in the Harrison County jail for allegedly robbing two Washington state banks, the FBI said.
Craig Ronald Shepard, 30, is suspected of robbing a Seafirst bank branch in Kennewick on April 5, 1995, and a U.S. Bank branch in Kennewick on July 19, 1995.
In the latter robbery, Shepard is accused of giving a bank employee a note that said he had a bomb and wanted money.
Shepard is a suspect in at least eight other bank robberies, said FBI special agent James C. Friar in Jackson. No charges have been filed in those cases, he said.
Shepard was arrested Thursday after a high-speed chase along the Mississippi Gulf Coast involving the FBI, local police and sheriff’s deputies.
