Allegro Receives Grant From Arts Commission

Allegro, baroque and beyond, has received a $5,100 grant from the Washington State Arts Commission for its current season, which began Tuesday.

The grant, the largest Allegro has received, is for general support of the current season, which includes a four-concert series at the Met, the summertime Royal Fireworks Concert and other activities.

Sandpoint’s Performing Arts and Humanities Theatre, 506 Oak, will hold auditions for the children’s musical “Pinocchio” at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Along with finding assorted townspeople, puppets and toys, directors need to fill the lead roles of Jiminey Cricket, Geppetto, Pinocchio and the Blue Fairy. Experience isn’t necessary, but helpful. For more information, call (208) 265-5316. , DataTimes
