2 Neighborhood Councils Debut City Council Also Will Consider Permit For Cafe In Downtown Intermodal Center

Two new neighborhood councils make their debut tonight before the Spokane City Council.

Residents of the Rockwood and North Indian Trail areas will join the program designed to get neighborhoods more involved with City Hall.

The City Council’s recognition of Rockwood and North Indian Trail brings the total of neighborhood councils to 10.

City officials say there may eventually be as many as 45.

Also tonight, the council will consider a contract with Peter Thang Le and Le Nguyen to run a cafe at the downtown Intermodal Center.

Under the proposal, the cafe managers will pay the city $1,700 a month.

A briefing for the council starts at 3:30 p.m. in the lower-level conference room of City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m.
