U.S. Hamms It Up In Germany

Three days after having its 30-match winning streak ended by Germany, the United States women’s soccer team beat the Germans 3-0 in Salzgitter, Germany, on two goals by Mia Hamm and one by Tiffeny Milbrett.

Mexico failed to clinch a World Cup berth, tying Canada 2-2 in a game in Edmonton, Alberta, that pushed the Canadians to the verge of elimination.

Canada (1-4-3) needs to beat the United States on Nov. 9 to remain alive.
