Whitworth Students Named To Laureate Group

Whitworth College named several Inland Northwest students to its Laureate Society for spring semester. To qualify, students must maintain a 3.75 grade point average.

Joseph Leachman, Colbert, was named to the Abilene (Texas) Christian University’s Honor Roll for spring semester.

Two Spokane students were named to the Dean’s List at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee for spring quarter: Marc Scherschel, son of Douglas and Louise Scherschel; and Gretchen Laete, daughter of Jake and Janelle Laete.

Scott Kee, Spokane, was named to the Dean’s List at the University of Delaware in Newark for spring semester. He is majoring in electrical engineering.

Clare Weiskopf was named to the Dean’s List at Loyola University of Chicago, where she is majoring in theater and communications. She also received a $2,000 scholarship from the school’s theater department.

The 1995 Gonzaga Prep graduate is the daughter of Bob and Roberta Weiskopf.

Russell Humphries, Spokane, received a Bachelor of Science degree in fire services administration from Western Oregon University (formerly Western Oregon State College) in Monmouth.

Richard Carson and Jeffrey Owens, both of Spokane and both majoring in medical imaging technology, were named to the President’s List at the Oregon Institute of Technology for spring quarter.

Kathryn Piraino received the Trudy Young Memorial Scholarship for $500 by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1435. She is a graduate of University High School and a member of its honor society.

Ryan Fleming, Mead, was named to Michigan State University’s honor roll for spring semester.

Ericka Harrison, Spokane, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring quarter at Southeast Missouri State University.

Jennifer Yochum was named to the Dean’s List for last winter and spring terms at Northland College, Ashland, Wis. She is a 1995 Riverside (Wash.) High School graduate and the daughter of Linda and Mike Yochum, Chattaroy, Wash.
