Bound Man Dials 911 With Nose

From Staff And Wire Reports

His hands bound, a man dialed 911 with his nose to summon police to a home invasion Monday.

“He was still bound when we got there,” said Royal Canadian Mounted Police Staff Sgt. Bob Braham.

Police did not identify the victim, who was the sole occupant of the house in Surrey near Vancouver.

The man said he was awakened in the early hours Monday by a knock on his front door. When he opened the door, he was knocked down. After a brief scuffle, his hands were bound with duct tape, and he was left on the basement floor.

The victim said the intruders, described as two males in their late 20s or early 30s, were in the house for about 15 minutes. But police said the intruders apparently took little, if anything, from the home.

The man suffered only superficial injuries.
