Church To Discuss Its Missions

Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church, 312 W. Hawthorne Road, will hold a special Partners in Mission soup lunch on Sunday to update the congregation and interested members of the community on the church’s various mission projects. The lunch will run from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

The program will feature Jeff and Maureen O’Connor, who will report on the family and medical mission to Haiti. Betty Stratton, and John and Karen Habbestad will report on a work project in Gambell, Alaska.

Pastor Sandy Brockway of Westminster Presbyterian Church in the West Central neighborhood will speak about the efforts that the congregation is making to better the lives of the people living in the community surrounding it.

Those attending the lunch are asked to bring $1 for the soup along with a salad, dessert, or bread to share. For more information, call the church at 466-0305.

Fall festival at Prince of Peace Lutheran

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3909 W. Rowan, will hold its annual fall festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Breakfast and lunch will be available to shoppers. The festival will feature a children’s carnival, holiday crafts, a plant sale, fine collectibles, lefse and bean soup mix.

The proceeds of the festival will benefit charities chosen by the women of the church and a portion will be added to the church’s building fund.

Women’s Guild holds bake sale

The Women’s Guild of North Hill Christian Church will hold a bake sale at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The church is located at 4620 N. Post. Proceeds will benefit various projects run by the guild.

Auction to benefit St. Francis school

St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 545 E. Providence, will host an auction and a gourmet dinner to benefit the church school on Oct. 25. The theme of the evening is “The Fabulous Fifties.”

The silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. and a dinner will be served at 7:45 p.m. The oral auction will follow at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 and must be purchased in advance. For tickets or more information, call the church office at 487-6363.
