Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: My husband and I were having problems trying to visit both sets of parents during the holidays. What we decided to do was switch back and forth, meaning one year we celebrated Thanksgiving with my folks and Christmas with his. The next year we did Thanksgiving with his folks and Christmas with mine. Kate, LaPorte, Ind.

With the holidays coming up soon, your suggestion just may ease the “which set of in-laws do we visit this year?” dilemma. - Heloise

Dear Heloise: I use aluminum pie and potpie tins to line my range burner pans. It just takes a little cutting of the center hole and side opening to fit. Not only does it work, it also saves money. Call it recycling. - Bette Smith, Sacramento, Calif.
