Peter ‘Bill’ Jepsen Chattaroy
Visitation for Peter William “Bill” Jepsen, 66, will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today at Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Chattaroy Community Church.
Mr. Jepsen, who was born in Huntington Park, Calif., died Sunday.
He served as a sonar technician in the Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Jepsen moved to Chattaroy in 1972.
He was a charge nurse at Eastern State Hospital and retired in 1994. He also had worked for the Willow Grove Assisted Living Center and with his son at Jepsen’s Construction.
He was a member of the Chattaroy Community Church and was a volunteer with Spokane County Fire District 4.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; two daughters, Helene Schrag of Carmel, Ind., and Lori Jepsen of Glendora, Calif.; four sons, Lawrence Jepsen of Spokane, David Jepsen of Tualatin, Ore., Daniel Jepsen of Silverdale, Wash., and Kevin Jepsen of Arcadia, Calif.; his mother, Lillian Jepsen of Altadena, Calif.; two sisters, Marion Hainer of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Pat Rizzi of Arcadia; and seven grandchildren.
Leslie Howell Viola, Idaho
Service for Leslie J. Howell, 76, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Federated Church in Palouse, Wash. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Howell, who was born near Potlatch, Idaho, died Monday.
He graduated in 1938 from Palouse High School.
In 1941, he married Ardyce Kent in Palouse and then moved to Oakesdale, Wash., where they farmed.
They moved in 1945 to a farm between Palouse and Potlatch. In 1967 they moved to a farm in Viola, Idaho.
Mr. Howell retired from farming in 1985 but continued raising cattle.
He served on the Potlatch School Board and the board of the Palouse Federated Church and was a member of the Palouse Grain Growers and the Odd Fellows Lodge.
Mr. Howell received the Latah County Conservation Farmer of the Year Award in 1965 and in 1981.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ken Howell, and a daughter, Pamela Anderson, both of Potlatch; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Haddey Mattison Post Falls
Private graveside service for Haddey Mattison, 68, will be held at a later date. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mattison, who was born in Michigan, died Thursday.
She had worked as an office manager for St. Mary’s Hospital in Michigan before moving to Post Falls in 1987. She was also a homemaker.
Her husband, Hilding, died in 1992.
Survivors include a son, Craig Mattison; and a daughter, Sandy Mattison of Loon Lake, Wash.
William ‘Tex’ Willbrink Spokane
Vigil service for William R. “Tex” Willbrink, 76, will be at 7 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Service is set for 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Moran Prairie Cemetery.
Mr. Willbrink, who was born in Fort Necessity, La., died Sunday.
He served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.
Mr. Willbrink moved to Spokane in 1956 with the natural gas pipeline and worked as a pipefitter for Local No. 444 for more than 35 years.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral and the Eagles Lodge No. 2.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Renet; three sons, Alex and William Willbrink Jr., both of Spokane, and Darrell Willbrink of Foster City, Calif.; three daughters, Winnie Hillock of Foster City, Calif., Misty McDuffie of Spokane and Cindy Willbrink of Mount Aukum, Calif.; a sister, Anna O’Grady of Mulberry, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Lydia Bischoff Harrington, Wash.
Graveside service for Lydia Bischoff, 77, will be at 1 p.m. today at Odessa (Wash.) Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Odessa is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Bischoff, who was born in Odessa, Wash., died Sunday.
She graduated in 1938 from Odessa High School.
In 1939 she married Edwin Bischoff in Odessa and they farmed in the Harrington-Odessa area. She was also a homemaker.
Mrs. Bischoff was a member of the Heritage United Congregation Church in Odessa.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin; two sons, Donald Bischoff of Spokane and Stan Bischoff of Palouse, Wash.; three sisters, Esther Becker of Moses Lake, Ruth Clukey of Spokane and Dorothy Finney of Odessa; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Herschel Ernst Spokane
Memorial service for Herschel L. Ernst, a 40-year Spokane resident, will be at 11 a.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.
Mr. Ernst, who was born in Granite City, Ill., died Sunday. He was 76.
He served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.
He worked for Boyle Fuel for 26 years as a truck driver and retired in 1980.
Mr. Ernst was a member of Teamsters Local 690 and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Esther; three sons, Larry Threlkeld of Mesa, Ariz., Paul Huck of East Wenatchee and Steven Huck of Spokane; two sisters, Gladys McTasney of Texas and Vivian Giuka of Alabama; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Donald Keevy Spokane

Mr. Keevy, who was born in Greely, Colo., died Monday.
He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and worked as a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine; two sons, Russ Keevy of Belton, Mo., and Ray Keevy of Post Falls; a daughter, Karen Burk of Spokane; his parents, Jerry and Marie Keevy of Spokane; two brothers, Duane Keevy of Spokane and Bill Keevy of Everett; a sister, Karen Ornee of Chino Hills, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Sophia Rehn Spokane

Mrs. Rehn, a 40-year resident of Spokane, died Monday.
She was born in Walla Walla and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Lutheran church, Vespers, Sinto Senior Center, Sprague Rebekah Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary in Sprague.
Her husband of 48 years, Alex Rehn, died in 1964.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Reed of Spokane; three sons, Ronald, Bud and Frank Rehn, all of Spokane; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
John Randazzo Spokane
Visitation for John Randazzo, 80, will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Service is set for 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mr. Randazzo, who died Monday, was born in Hamilton, Ontario.
In 1938 he married Connie Ricottone in Hamilton, Ontario.
Mr. Randazzo worked as a butcher and was a 20-year Spokane resident.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Tony and Chuck Randazzo; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Jennifer Reed Spokane
Service for Jennifer Reed, 23, is set for 2 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.
Miss Reed, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Saturday from injuries suffered in a automobile accident near Sandpoint.
She graduated from West Valley High School in 1992.
Miss Reed worked as a certified nurse’s aide for the past five years and had also worked as a cashier for the Fred Meyer store in north Spokane.
She was a member of Job’s Daughters and attended Dishman Baptist Church.
Survivors include her parents, Archie and Darlene Reed of Spokane; two brothers, Gene Smith of Spokane and Scott Reed of Chesapeake, Va.; and a sister, DeeAnn Towne of Spokane.
Margaret Jones Spokane
Vigil service for Margaret Hurley Jones, 78, will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Born in Spokane, Mrs. Jones, died Sunday.
She graduated from Holy Names Academy, where she was a member of the Dasidrian group.
Mrs. Jones earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from Holy Names College and later taught secondary education in the Ryderwood, Wash., school district.
She and her husband, Robert Jones, co-founded Beyond Hope Resort on Lake Pend Oreille near Hope, Idaho.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Spokane Club, Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce and the St. Margaret’s Auxiliary. She was also a member of St. Peter Parish, where she served as the choir and choral director for several years.
Her husband died in 1986.
Survivors include three daughters, Janet Bluhm and Sheila Jones, both of Kirkland, Wash., and Terri White of Beaverton, Ore.; two sons, Maurice Jones of Spokane and Jeffery Jones of Foothills Ranch, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

Norman Mikalson Spokane
Memorial service for Norman Lillard Mikalson, 86, is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Mikalson, who was born in Eureka, Mont., died Friday.
He moved to Spokane in 1930 and graduated from Eastern Washington University.
Mr. Mikalson taught elementary school in Pasco. He later worked as a Fuller Brush field manager during the Depression.
In the 1940s, he and his family bought a sawmill with locations in Chattaroy and Spokane. Later, Mikalson Lumber Mills was located in Kettle Falls, Colville and Arden, Wash.
Mr. Mikalson became president of Arden Tree Farms. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, International Order of Hoo-Hoo, Northwest Wood Products Clinic, the Spokane Opera Association, the National Rifle Association and Kappa Sigma fraternity.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mabel; two daughters, Kristin Mangino of Vancouver, Wash., and Jofreda Mikalson of Spokane; and three grandchildren.

Agnes Perring Spokane
Memorial service for Agnes M. Perring, 92, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Fairmount Memorial Park Sunset Chapel. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Perring, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Wednesday.
She operated the restaurant and ice arena at Natatorium Park for many years.
Mrs. Perring was a 73-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was also a member of the Royal Neighbors.
She is survived by two sons, Charles James of Portland and Thomas James of Lake Montezuma, Ariz.; a daughter, Shirley Howard of Vancouver, Wash.; a sister, Josephine Burroughs of Rathdrum; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ernest ‘Hap’ Wagner Reardan, Wash.
Memorial service for Ernest G. “Hap” Wagner, 80, is planned for 3 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Reardan. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wagner, who was born in Harrington, Wash., died Monday.
He served in the Army in the Pacific during World War II and was a member of the 148th Field Artillery.
Mr. Wagner was a farmer in Lincoln County.
He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 113, First Presbyterian Church of Reardan and the Washington Association of Wheat Growers.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Eleanor; three daughters, Denise Bay of Steilacoom, Wash., Melanie Wagner of Bellevue, Wash., and Lynette Peterson of Espanola, Wash.; two brothers, Rudy and John Wagner, both of Harrington; two sisters, Ruth Jantz of Odessa, Wash., and Betty Walker of Spokane; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Esther Hunter Tekoa, Wash.
Service for Esther B. Hunter, 85, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Fairfield. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Hunt Cemetery in Kingston, Idaho. Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Hunter, who was born in Shattuck, Okla., died Saturday.
In 1931, she married William Hunter in Delhart, Texas.
They moved to Pinehurst, Idaho, and later to Kingston, Idaho.
Mrs. Hunter worked in Kingston for many years as a cook. She also worked for the Forest Service. From 1960 to 1970 she operated a boarding house in Kellogg.
Mrs. Hunter moved to Tekoa in 1970. In Tekoa she was a live-in housekeeper and also worked as a cook in restaurants and as a dishwasher at a nursing home.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Fairfield.
Her husband died 1977.
She is survived by a son, Alvin Hunter of Tekoa; a daughter, Lucille McCombs of Kingston; two brothers, Wesley and Roy Bender, both of Shattuck, Okla.; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Irene (Albright) Morgan Spokane

Mrs. Morgan, a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Tuesday.
She graduated in 1938 from North Central High School.
In the late 1940s, she married Don Morgan. They left Spokane and returned in 1960.
They owned the Wayside Inn, later called Morgan’s Half Moon Inn.
She is survived by her husband, Don; four daughters, Darlene Flinn of Spokane, Roseanne Burchett of Wild Rose Prairie, Carol Samberg of Federal Way, Wash., and Donna Kendall of Deer Park; a sister, Dorothy Hider of Spokane; a brother, Edwin Albright of Deer Lake; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Shanan Harrington Spokane

Miss Harrington, who was born in Spokane, died Saturday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Sandpoint.
She attended University High School.
Miss Harrington worked as a certified nurse’s assistant with S&S Health Care.
In 1996, she was employed as a nanny in New Jersey.
She is survived by her parents, Jim and Marcia Harrington of Spokane; two brothers, Jim and Ryan Harrington, both of Spokane; her grandparents, Kenneth and Grace Harrington of Spokane, and Margaret Jokinen of Spokane.

Carl Fry Sr. Sequim, Wash.

Mr. Fry, 84 died Friday.
He was born in Spokane.
He owned Multi Sales and Services from 1947 to 1973 and was general manager of Rusco Northwest from 1973 to 1977, when he retired.
Mr. Fry moved to Sequim 15 years ago.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Spokane Home Builders Association.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie; two sons, Stewart and Carl Fry Jr., both of Spokane; two daughters, Carla McMacken and Alison Herdener, both of Vancouver, Wash.; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Ronald Werle Spokane

Mr. Werle, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.
He attended West Valley High School and worked as an auto mechanic.

James Haley Spokane

Mr. Haley, who was born in Seattle, died Friday.
He owned and operated Haley’s Accounting Services for 18 years. He was a resident of Spokane for 23 years.
He was a member of Assumption Parish and the Knights of Columbus and was a crisis line volunteer.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Jo Ann; a daughter, Maureen Haley-Groom of London; a son, James Haley Jr. of Spokane; two brothers, Richard Haley of LaGrange, Ill., and John Haley of Arlington Heights, Ill.; a sister, Margie Vandenberg of Bellevue, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Gertrude Hisaw Spokane
Private memorial service for Gertrude R. Hisaw, 80, was Wednesday at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hisaw, who died Oct. 9, was born in Kalispell, Mont.
She graduated in 1935 from North Central High School.
Mrs. Hisaw worked for Old National Bank as a trust department secretary and later as a legal secretary for the prosecuting attorney’s office.
She was a 75-year Spokane resident.
Her husband, John Hisaw, died in 1996.
Mrs. Hisaw is survived by a daughter, Carole Jenkins of Concord, Calif.; two sons, Curtis Hisaw of Cheney and Craig Hisaw of Spokane; a brother, Donald Jackson of Spokane; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Chue Moua Spokane

Mr. Moua, a 10-year Spokane resident, died Monday.
He was born in Laos, where he was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Yer Xiong; nine sons, Neng, Tou, Houa, Vang, Blong, Long, Tong, Som and Pasert; five daughters, Bee, Soua, See, Pang and Zoua; two brothers, Palue and Yao; two sisters, Bee Pai and Chia, and 71 grandchildren.
Dan Loehding Spokane
Memorial service for Dan F. Loehding, 78, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Hays Park Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of the arrangements and cremation.
Mr. Loehding, a Spokane resident since 1945, died Saturday.
He was born in Ekalaka, Mont., and graduated in 1938 from Carter County High School in Montana.
During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps in North Africa and Italy.
Mr. Loehding was an active minister of Jehovah Witnesses for 46 years in the Spokane area. He also worked as an auto body repairman.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ruth; a son, Dick Loehding of Spokane; three daughters, Susan Yarbrough, Cindy Conyers and Nancy Loehding; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
