Warning Issued On ‘Operation Holidays’ Scam

From Staff And Wire Reports

The state attorney general’s office is warning people to beware of a holiday charity scam.

“Operation Holidays” callers ask people for money that they falsely claim will be distributed through Northwest Harvest and Seattle Emergency Housing, according to Janice Marich of the attorney general’s office.

Marich suggests confirming that a charity drive is legitimate before sending any money. One way is by calling the attorney general’s office to see if the charity is registered.
