Four Lc Graduates Receive Scholarships In Art, Drama

Four spring graduates of Lewis and Clark High School received Scott Brajcich Memorial Scholarships for their excellence in art and drama to continue their education in these fields.

Art department scholarships went to Katie Shook and Shelby Sneva.

Drama department scholarships went to Heather Pierce and Candice Musgrove.

Jennifer Hebb, daughter of Barbara and David Hebb, has graduated from the University of Puget Sound, where she majored in biology with a minor in chemistry. Hebb was a member of Phi Sigma national biology honors society, the Society for Women in Math and Science, and Mortar Board.

Jared Wyrick was named to the spring semester Dean’s List at the University of Montana.

Jonathan Arras received seven scholarships upon graduating last June from Riverside High School:

The Dauna Leigh Bauer Scholarship, Gonzaga Trustee Scholarship, and from Inland Power and Light, Bank of America, Target All-American, Riverside Public School Employees and Phi Delta Kappa.

He also received a grant from GU to attend its honors program.

Arras, who was listed twice in “Who’s Who Among American High School Students,” is the son of Jim and Cyndy Arras of Elk.

Jonathan Price, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at the University of Puget Sound, where he is majoring in business with an economics minor.

He is the son of Jim and Ann Price and a graduate of Lewis and Clark High School.

William White was named to the Dean’s List at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., for spring semester. He is the son of Perry Taylor of Spokane.

Rebecca Lorang, daughter of Dave and Bonnie Lorang, was named as a Cornell Presidential Research Scholar at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.

Kathryn Julyan received a Master of Arts degree from Tufts University in Medford, Mass., where she majored in philosophy.

Matthew Johnson was named to the Dean’s List for spring semester at Vanderbilt University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in electrical engineering and computer science. He is the son of Maxine and Bruce Johnson of Colbert. , Steve Stromberger, a 1995 graduate of Freeman High School, received a $500 scholarship from the Fluid Power Educational Foundation. He is enrolled in the fluid power program at Spokane Community College.

He is the son of Tim and Arlene Stromberger of Greenacres.

Richard Odegard, a 1962 graduate of Whitman College, has received the school’s Alumnus Award of Merit.

Odegard, a retired senior executive with SeaFirst Bank in Spokane, has been involved with dozens of community, state and regional organizations as well as projects and campaigns advocating children’s issues.

The University of Montana named Ryan Litzinger to its Dean’s List for spring semester. He is the son of Diane Dorn of Spokane.
