Mother Turns In Son Suspected In Crash
The mother of a 17-year-old boy suspected of crashing into a school bus in a hit-and-run accident has turned in her son to police.
The woman brought the teen to police headquarters about 11 p.m. Friday.
The boy was arrested and then released into his mother’s custody, pending further investigation into Thursday’s accident.
The collision occurred at a city intersection at 3 p.m. A speeding Cadillac went through a stop sign and hit a school bus carrying 10 middle-school students, flipping the bus over, police and witnesses said.
No one on the bus was injured seriously.
Three to five people jumped out of the car and fled, police said. One appeared to have been injured in the crash.
