Rain Washes Out Bridge; Mudslide Kills Family

Compiled From Wire Services

Heavy rain washed out a bridge and unleashed a mudslide Sunday, killing nine people along Kenya’s Indian Ocean coast.

The mudslide, in western district of this coastal city, killed a family of five, whose house was destroyed along with a dozen others, said police spokesman Sammy Maritim.

Four people were killed when a truck plunged into the Bogolo River, where a flash flood had taken out a bridge.
